INS Taragiri – Crafting the Story of India’s Naval Strength (Indian Navy)
Working on the construction film of INS Taragiri was a professionally significant milestone in my filmmaking journey. Built for the Indian Navy and constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Taragiri represents the next generation of indigenous naval engineering under Project 17A. As the editor of this film, my role was to transform months of engineering precision, shipbuilding craftsmanship, and strategic defence capability into a cinematic narrative that captured both the scale of the platform and the spirit of India’s self reliance in defence manufacturing.
The film documents the journey of the vessel from structural assembly to final integration, highlighting the complexity, technology, and human effort behind one of India’s advanced stealth frigates. Through dynamic pacing, archival integration, sound design, and visual storytelling, the objective was to create more than a documentation piece—it was to build an emotional and patriotic narrative around a national asset. This project stands as one of my most prestigious defence storytelling assignments and reflects my ability to shape technical, large-scale industrial content into compelling visual experiences.
